On this site you will discover lots of challenges that we call missions. Some you can do virtually anywhere in the world while others can only be done in specific places, like Trafalgar Square in London.
If you do a mission and mark it as completed you can win points. By answering a bonus question you can collect even more points. Once you've won enough points you can earn rewards like our
Mission:Explorer badge.
How do you find missions?
You can find missions by:
- picking a reward and looking for the missions you need to earn it;
- visiting a challenger's page and checking out their missions;
- searching for a place name;
- searching for a keyword.
How do you earn rewards?

You'll see that on every mission it shows two sets of points which are up for grabs. You can earn the first set of points just for saying that you've completed the mission (we'll trust you). To win the second set of points you will need a password to prove that you deserve them. You can work this password out by answering the quiz question if there is one. Every time you get the answer wrong the number of points available will go down.. so be careful.
If you collect 1,000 or more reward points you will earn a reward. Some rewards are much harder to win than others. It's possible to collect more than 1,000 reward points so you can keep growing your score even if you have already won the relevant reward.
Points are not everything though. You can use Mission:Explore to keep a record of your achievements too, like spotting different wild animals.
Join a team or 5
Represent your country or cheese cake by joining a Mission:Explore
team. All of your points are added to the team's average score. You can join 5 teams
here.
Your Name M:Ex
As a member of Mission:Explore you can add the letters M:Ex behind your name. These letters celebrate your skills of exploration and show that you are part of a very special community. You can claim in the M:Ex badge

Completing a mission

It's a good idea to have a notebook, colouring pencils and other explorer kit with you. Many of the missions involve drawing and recording so having something to write on is important. If you have a camera, video camera or other cool technologies bring them too if you can.
Once you've done a mission make sure you come back here and mark it complete. You can then collect points and can win rewards.
The best way to celebrate completing a mission is to tell your friends and family. Show them evidence of your explorations or share your explorer user profile. Keep an eye on the leaderboard too. You can climb it very quickly.
